Public API

Use the Pre-entries API to show events on your club’s website, build a fixtures calendar, or read a start list into your own software. It’s free and read-only, and you don’t need a key.

Endpoints

All addresses start with https://www.pre-entries.com/api/v1.

  • GET /events
    Events on the public list, from today onwards. Add from=YYYY-MM-DD, to=YYYY-MM-DD or club={slug} to filter.
  • GET /events/{id}
    One event: dates, venue, entry window, fees, courses, classes and, for a multi-day event, each day.
  • GET /events/{id}/start-list
    The start list, with the same names, clubs, age classes, SI cards and starts as the start list page.
  • GET /clubs
    Every club on Pre-entries.
  • GET /clubs/{slug}
    One club, with a link to its events.

The full description is in OpenAPI format. Most tools can build a client from it.

Good to know

  • Money is in pence: 1200 is £12.00. Dates are YYYY-MM-DD; times are ISO 8601 in UTC.
  • range in an event’s fees is the cheapest and dearest entry right now, worked out the same way as at checkout, before extras and discount codes.
  • Answers can be up to a minute old. To enter, send people to the event’s links.enter page; the entry form always checks places and deadlines live.
  • Each address can make 60 requests a minute. Past that you’ll get a 429 with a Retry-After header. Cached answers don’t count.
  • Any website can call the API from the browser. Unlisted events aren’t in the list, but you can still look one up by its id.

What’s not included

Only what’s already on the public pages. Competitors’ emails, phone numbers, emergency contacts, dates of birth and payments are never in the API. Please don’t use start lists to contact competitors or to train AI models.

Changes

We’ll add fields to version 1 without notice, so ignore any you don’t recognise. We won’t rename or remove anything in version 1. Questions or ideas? Email ben@pre-entries.com.
