Pricing for clubs

Payments go through Stripe on our account. After the event, we transfer the club’s balance. Stripe’s UK card fee is 1.5% + 20p per payment, deducted from the club’s balance. Competitors never pay a card surcharge.

Pre-entries service fee

Our fee is deducted from the club’s balance for each paying competitor, set by the event level:

• Local and regional: 25p
• National and major: 50p

Activity, free, or sponsored events are often 0p. That’s set per event.

Example

For a £10 local entry paid by card:

• Club receives: £9.40
• Stripe takes: 35p (1.5% + 20p)
• We keep: 25p

One payment can cover more than one entry. Stripe’s fee on that payment is split across those entries in proportion to each total.

Refunds and changes

When a competitor cancels, the cancellation charge applies. Paid changes carry a change fee. Both are in the Entrant terms.

• Where the organiser allows it, a competitor can cancel for a refund until the date on the event page. The refund is what they paid, minus the cancellation charge: 1.5% + 20p plus the service fee. Entries paid together share the 20p. It’s the same whatever card they used.
• A change that costs more is paid with the difference plus the change fee; one that costs less refunds the difference, minus the fee. The fee is 50p unless the club sets another, up to £2, and stays with the club.
• Otherwise, refunds are at the organiser’s discretion. If the club cancels the event, its policy on the event page applies; with none, competitors get a full refund.
• Card fees, refunds and chargebacks come off the club’s balance. If a club refunds more than an entry holds after fees, the difference comes off its payout.

Event entries are for a leisure activity on a set date, so the 14-day cooling-off right in the Consumer Contracts Regulations doesn’t apply. See Organiser terms.
